Lessons From The University Of Failure -Bishop FEB Idahosa

Isaiah 43:18-19

18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

The University of Failure is the only school that everybody has attended.  Many of you have failed in the past. Many people have made mistakes in the past. Many of you have tried so many things that didn’t work. The good news is that the mistakes and failures of the past does not make you a failure. The failure of the past is not what defines you.

A University is a place of learning. In the University you learn so many lessons. Some of the lessons are theoretical and others are practical. In the University you also learn through observation and experience. You don’t spend your whole life in the University; you go through and then graduate. You don’t stay there forever.

In life you will go through the University of Failure, but the good news is that you will not stay there forever. You will surely graduate. The bible is full of so many people who failed and rose up from their failures. Joshua failed when he went to battle with Ai. David also failed several times. Peter denied Jesus three times. The list goes on. In all of these, God still believed in them and brought them out of their failures.

In our own lives sometimes, it seems the list of our failures goes on; you might have made so many mistakes or failed in some areas of your life. If you have failed before, don’t fear, you are in a good company; there are many others who have failed before and rose up from their failures. Your mistakes may have made you feel that you have failed, but you are not a failure. You can still rise up from your failure. God has a plan and purpose for you. You will fulfil God’s plan for your life in Jesus name.

Some Lessons From The University Of Failure:

Lesson One:

Jesus has forgiven you and released you from the mistakes and failures of your past. The failures and mistakes of the past is part of the past, leave them there. Most people are very good in reminding others of the failures and mistakes of their past. Learn to avoid such people. Bishop Huskin said, “Anyone who will not let you out of your past, disqualifies themselves from your future”.

Stay away from those who always remind you of your past. Any person, be it your parents, siblings or friends who tries to keep you in your past, has disqualified themselves from your future. No man owns your future. God is the one who owns and determine your future. Don’t allow your past to determine your present or create your future.

You may have sinned or made a mistake, but Christ has forgiven you and redeemed you. We were redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus. Jesus cares so much for you; He dealt with your past mistakes, failures and sins on the cross. If anybody comes and tell you that you are not worthy of God’s forgiveness, tell them they are lying.  Let them know you are worthy before God. Tell them Jesus paid the price with His blood to redeem you.

Your value before God is big. Don’t allow people look down on you. You are a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Your value is not what people see, your value is the price that Jesus paid on the cross. So, nobody has the right to trap you down in your past mistakes. See Colossians 2:8-13; Psalm 103:12; Hebrews 10:16-17, 19. Having redeemed you, God no longer remember your mistakes and sins anymore. You can now boldly come into God’s presence because of the blood of Jesus.

God has forgiven you your past and the blood of Jesus has opened the door for you to enter boldly into the Holy of Holies. Because of the blood of Jesus, you are qualified to come into the presence of God and sit with Him. Galatians 3:13 says “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:  for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree”.  The bible said in Romans 5:8 that “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him, 10 for if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, and we shall be saved by his life”.

See Colossians 1:21-22. You are now blameless. Nobody can blame you anymore. God will not use your past to judge you. He will not use your past mistakes and failures to judge your present or to determine your future. Your spouse, friends, employer and other people around you may use your past to judge you, but God will not judge you by your past. God has redeemed you and set you free from your past.

God does need your past to judge your present or to create your future. God creates your future based on how He sees you, and the value He has for you when He redeemed you. So, if God has released you, you need to release yourself. Many people cannot make progress in life because they are still feeling so bad about their past mistakes. They think that what they have done cannot be forgiven. They still hold themselves to their past. It is time for you to release yourself. Man may try to hold you back, but God will not hold you back.

It is important to know that Jesus has forgiven you and released you from your mistakes and failures. You have graduated, so release yourself. Many of us are so used to been trapped by the past, that when God tells them that they have been released, they don’t seem to believe it. Your past has been taken care of by Jesus, face your future.

Lesson Two:

Forgive and release those who have hurt you or cause you pain. Unforgiveness, anger and bitterness are not fruits of the spirit. Unforgiveness can cause you to remain in your past. If you keep on looking on the wrong that people have done you, you cannot move forward. If you keep on thinking of the pains and hurt other people have caused you, you cannot go forward. Unforgiveness, anger and bitterness are chains that hold us back to our past. Forgiveness does more for you the forgiver than the person you are forgiving.

In John 20:22, the bible says, “22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:  23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained”. You must learn to release people from your heart. Unforgiveness, anger and bitterness can cause all kind of sickness in your body. They can cause high blood pressure in your body. You do more damage to yourself if you harbour unforgiveness. If there is someone you need to forgive and release, for your own good forgive and release them.

The good news is: forgiveness is linked to peace. Forgiveness is linked to good health. Forgiveness is linked to all kind of good things. Forgive and release yourself. In the University of Failure that person that hurt you might have failed you, but forgive him and let him graduate.

Jeremiah 30:17 says “17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after, 18 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwelling places; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.”.   No matter the hurt and pains that others have caused you, as you forgive them God will heal your pains and wounds. He will restore you to health.

If you let God work in you, you will be able to forgive those who hurt you. Also 3 John 2 says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”. If you walk in unforgiveness, anger and bitterness your soul will not prosper and then your body and finances will not prosper. Nobody in life is actually perfect; people have hurt you and you also have hurt other people. The greatest thing anyone can do for himself is to forgive others. If Christ Himself can forgive you, then you too can forgive someone else.

Faith Proclamation:

Through the blood of Jesus I receive forgiveness for every sin in my life and I forgive myself in Jesus Name. Through the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood, I forgive those who have hurt me and cause me pains.

I am crucified with Christ. I died with Him in His death and now I am risen with Him. So from this moment on, I do not know anybody after the flesh Amen.

I boldly declare that Christ has redeemed me from every consequence of sin. The curse of breaking God’s law has been satisfied by the death of Jesus.

I declare that I am empowered through Christ redemption to reverse every curse, to reverse every sickness, to reverse every disease in the Name of Jesus.
