Aspire For The Best -Archbishop Benson Idahosa

Mark 9:23

Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

3 John2

I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

God wants you to realize that within you is the possibility to shed the cloak of failure, to escape the negative syndrome of discouragement, to break with the demoralizing dogmas of defeat, to get out of the boredom of conformity and to go for life at its best.

Aspire to more than the average person settles for. A common characteristic of all winners is, they deeply aspire to win. The force of eager aspiration in you has a miraculous way of releasing powerful energy, creativity and an almost supernatural pull toward what you yearn for.

One of the most vital facts you will discover is that God wants you to have good things and the best in life, but He waits until you aspire to have them and go for them, before He can give them to you. When a blind man cried out to Jesus, He stopped and asked him, “What do you want me to do?” He wanted his sight and he received it.

Dreams do come true! Until we have a dream, we can never know what it is to have a dream come true. The Bible says, that by God’s mighty power at work within us, he is able to do far more than we would dare to ask or even dream of; infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes.

Aspire to all that God has created. Let go of all religious doubts regarding material blessings and happiness. You deserve the best in life. That is why God created it and put you here in the middle of it. It is your domain. People who accuse the prosperous and condemn the affluent often hoard and conceal their miserly stocks for their own future, never enjoying the pleasure of God’s material blessing in the now and certainly never lifting others. The World and its wealth is our domain. But we can never possess this pearl of great price until we understand its value and aspire to possess it for our good, for the blessing of other people around us and for the glory of God.

God never gave us a world already developed and accomplished. He entrusted us with the seed to plant, the soil to cultivate, the ocean to sail, the mountains to scale, the deserts to conquer, the rivers to harness, the minerals to mine, the forests to utilize, plus a brain and a spirit to receive His creative ideas for doing these things. With Him at work in us, we can be and have and do anything He puts into our spirit and mind to do. We are to be the masters of this world. Never forget what Jesus said, “Ask, Seek, Knock.” Everyone that asks receives. How simple! If you really want it, if you earnestly aspire to it enough to ask, to seek and to knock, you will get it.

Jesus said to a woman who intensely wanted Him to heal her daughter and who would not give up: “Be it as you desire,” and the girl was healed. When you delight in God, He gives you the desires of your heart. You will inherit the earth. God will exalt you to inherit the land. There is plenty of everything for you, if you are convinced of your value and really aspire to the best in life.

The measure of what you allow God to be, to do, or have in and through you, depends upon the intensity of your aspiration to be or do or have His best for you, Him and for others. David said, “My heart and my flesh cries out for the living God. My soul thirsts for God, my flesh longs for Him.” Our spirits yearn for God, for peace, for tranquility, for meaning and for achievement.

Our flesh aspires to the physical and material provisions which God has created for us: water, food, air, comfort, success, wealth, abundance, health, happiness and fulfillment. If those aspirations are suppressed and not allowed to motivate us, we will die in nothingness and emptiness, without purpose or significance. One writer said, “To really aspire after the good life means to really pray for it.” You will pray for it and believe for it when you know about it.

As long as you demean what God has paid so much to redeem, as long as you put down what cost God so much to lift up, as long as you condemn what God paid so dearly to forgive, you will be repressed and put under by the devil.

Jesus Christ came to give you self-esteem. He never, ever put anyone down, except religious people who used their religion to put people down. He is a lifter of people, a healer, and a restorer. He wants to restore your faith in life, if circumstances have broken your will. If you are poor, He wants to give you hope and faith that good things in life are for you. If you have been blind to your value, to your potential or to the possibilities around you, Jesus Christ wants to open your eyes to see a dozen solutions to problems you thought were impossible to solve. Your ears may have been stopped and you missed the answers in life. The Lord will miraculously, open them and you will hear what counts for life’s best. You may have been demoralized until you withdrew in failure and humiliation. Jesus will stand up inside of you and cause you to walk tall in life and succeed where you failed before.

God actually puts His desires for the good life inside your heart when you have His view of life, and when you practice the awareness of Him at work in you. In 2Chronicles 30:12, the people felt a strong, God-given desire for His way and for His best. In Ezra 1:5, God give a great desire to leaders. They wanted to get back to the right path and build their lives God’s way. In Nehemiah 2:17-18, the people were reminded of the tragedy of their city in ruins. Nehemiah said, “Let’s rebuild the wall and rid ourselves of disgrace!” Then he told them about the desire which God had put in his heart and the plan. The people replied at once. “Good! Let’s rebuild.” And the work began.

You see, when you aspire for the good life, it is God aspiring through you. Your desire is God’s desire. Health, happiness, success and fulfillment are God’s ideas: He offers them and their tremendous benefits to you. He wants you to desire them. Seek (aspire to) good that you may live. God says: “I love them that love me and those that seek me early shall find me.” (Prov. 8:17). God also told us, “Unending riches, honour, justice and righteousness are mine to distribute. My gifts are better than the purest gold or sterling silver. Those who love and follow me are indeed wealthy. I fill their treasures” (Prov. 18:21)

Jesus asked some blind men: “What do you want me to do for you?” They said, “We want to see.” And he was moved with compassion, touched their eyes and instantly they could see, and they followed him. (Matt. 20:32-34 LB).

David said in Psalms: “Happy are those who are strong in the Lord, and who want above all else to follow his steps.” (Ps. 84:5).

Inside of the new liberated you, there is a burning yearning to move into God’s limitless empire of desire and to make it yours. You are ready for the next level of achievement where your whole person will actually assume a positive resolve to get God’s best, because you have His life.

It is your trust in God’s plan and in His abundant provision that causes you to rise up, to resist limitations and to say, “I require his best so that I can be his best.” That is faith-power at work in you.

From today, say, “No person or demon or religion or system shall restrict and restrain me, condemn and confuse me, judge and abuse me, or manipulate and maneuver me”. Resolve that you shall never be frozen in un-fulfillment. Only when you require God’s best, can He produce His dream in and through you. The good life is His idea for you.

Energy is wasted unless it is directed and focused. You have dreamed enough of the sketches, plans and blueprints of your house, it’s time to start building. A contract must be signed. Money must be made. The plunge must be taken. You must dare to risk everything and go for your dreams.

The greatest tragedy in life is for people to live and die and never come out of themselves:  to never realize the possibilities hidden within them. The greatest triumph in life is for people to discover themselves in Christ; to discover the rich, full happy life God created for them and to fully develop that unlimited life in them.

Only when you desire what God desires can He produce His dream in and through you. The bible says, “No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly before Him. (Ps 84:11).” “He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with GOOD things. (Ps. 107:9).”

When you make a commitment to God’s plan. The Master Artist sculptures you until your finest potentials are discovered in full form. See yourself as God sees you. See the unlimited possibilities that are in you. When you agree to God’s plan and work with Him, nothing can stop you.

God offers you everything to fulfill your happiness, prosperity, health and abundant living. All things are yours, you belong to Christ; and Christ is Gods’. (1 Cor. 3:22).
