You Are Royalty -Archbishop Benson Idahosa

When Christianity is reduced to just another religion, it is not very different. The “religion” which pharisaical tradition has formed from Christianity is rooted in pious, medieval theology and has lost its good news. Is it logical for true believers in God and in the Bible to bow in hopeless submission to demoralizing and depressing conditions? Can that increase spiritual qualities? Religion seems to inevitably exact some kind of contrition or self-reproach of its adherents.  God believes in you, values you and esteems you so highly that He created you just a little lower than Himself, then decked your world with every conceivable treasures and beauty for your health, happiness, success and fulfillment.  He created this fabulous world to be   utilized by those   w hom He created in His own image. Is it a generally accepted idea that humanity has sinned, therefore people must now pay for their transgressions by physical suffering, deprivation and the indignities...

How To Overcome Temptation -Bishop FEB Idahosa

Image
Hebrews 4:15 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;  but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.   The opening scripture makes us understand that Jesus was tempted as we are, yet did not sin. Every temptation we have gone through as individuals, Jesus also went through and overcame. If Jesus overcame these temptations, you also can overcome. No matter the temptation that comes your way, you can overcome them. My focus in this message is not about sexual sin or other form of sin, but my focus is on the decision you make in the face of any sin. What happens (whether you stand or fall) in the face of any temptation is based on the decisions you make. Everything you deal with is based on decision. Anywhere you are now as a person is based on decision. In anything you are confronted with, what matters is the choice you make, but not the sin or problem you are confronted with. The issue now is wh...

Foundations For Peaceful Relationships And Homes -Mark and Sharon Ighile

Image
Any relationship or home that has a purpose will always be peaceful. A relationship or home that has a clear cut focus will be peaceful. Purpose can drive away anger and frustration in a home and relationship. When you are purpose driven, you will be free from every form of worry. Purpose drives away anger, annoyance, worry and pain in any relationship. There are eight foundations we will be considering in this discourse that can bring about peace in any relationship or home. They are: (1) The power of friendship: Any relationship that does not have friendship as its driving force will be cosmetic and syndicated. Any relationship that does not ooze out from a friendly atmosphere cannot really be proven. That is why we advise those going into marriage relationships to marry someone who is a friend; the reason been that after the wedding ceremony it is the friendship that will make the marriage and home to work. Ceremonies will come and go, but what sustains the home is that friendsh...

Dealing With Discouragement -Archbishop Benson Idahosa

Image
The whole world is searching for a purpose in living. Millions are seeking the reality of God. Multiplied millions are craving for tangible evidence that the Bible is true - and if so, how to make a full proof of practical application of the divine injunctions in it to an individual's life. Millions on this Earth have simply resigned themselves to some blind faith: “What is to be will be will be, and nothing can alter it”. In this negative stance, teeming millions have surrendered their faith altogether, relegating God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Bible to the position of a primitive or medieval indoctrination. Religious dogmas program society to believe tenaciously that God is far too complex and mysterious for man to relate to. How then do you explain Matthew 11:28? “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”. It says God is asking men and women with burdens to come into his open arms and find rest”  The business world believes in s...

Death Demystified -Archbishop Benson Idahosa

Image
With all the attributes which men have clothed death with, it is actually demystifiable; for one thing, death has a history. In Genesis chapter 2 verse 17 and chapter 3 verse 3, God foretold the coming of death as a consequence of disobedience: men would begin to die the day they disregarded God’s commandment. And when man disregarded God’s commandment and sinned, death appeared on the earth scene. It was first epitomized in Abel the son of Adam: he was the first man to die, and thereafter death reined unchallenged over the spiritually spineless children of men, until the Son of God came as the Son of man. He was the first man to look unto the hollow sockets of the face of death, trounce it, leave it behind in the grave and climb out to declare: “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive forever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death” (Rev. 1 :18). By His death and resurrection, this Champion of men, Jesus Christ, has delivered all who through fear of death al...

Stay In God's Word -Archbishop Benson-Idahosa

Your faith must be based on the word of God if it is going to be a steady faith, a consistent faith not subject to undue wavering, but solid in both good and bad times. This is a basic truth I have repeated stressed over and over in my sermons. There is such a thing as an enduring faith. This kind of faith depends steadfastly upon the world of God. Faith is progressive and living faith is active, defying all human hindrances. The word of God works in the same way with your faith. The Bible indeed says, “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17). Faith comes by hearing the word of God from whom? The evangelist or pastor or any instrument of God. You can speak the word of faith to your spirit, too. If you can believe anybody, it should be yourself. Read the promises of God and build yourself up on your most Holy faith. The preaching of the men and women who are anointed causes faith to soar up in your heart. Often the devil has said to me, “Hey, Benson Idahosa,...

Create Your Future -Archbishop Margaret Idahosa

The distance between your starting point and destination is a void which can only be reconciled by action, and action is the final translation of thoughts and decisions into reality. Action is self-generated and self-propelled, but to realize itself, it must use external materials to gain impetus and to achieve its purpose. Thus, it is a step taken to bridge the gap between intentions and set goals. Nothing illustrates this than the spider. What is remarkable about this little creature is its ability to create from within itself. The size of the spider web is in it. It alone can decide what it wants, whether the web will be big or small according to the dictates of its demand. To begin, it looks into a point ahead of it and spits the first webbing. It springs straight and true and then gums. The spider quickly runs on the web ligament, moving highly across it and gets to the end of the line then it takes another look at the points and spits again. The webbing gums again. The spid...
